My Leg

Well I am three weeks into my leg mess. What a nightmare. I would not recommend anyone break a leg ever, but especially if you have small children or other people to take care of.

I went to the Dr on Wednesday and got my cast off. I feel like a whole new woman. My brace lets me bend my leg, and shower (kind of) like a human. I can also take it off! Whahoo! This is nice.

Monday I head back to work part time and I am a little nervous about that. I'm clumsy on my feet and now I am headed to work on crutches. Luckily I only have to go part time because it is exhausting for me to do too much yet. Crazy how surgery and such can knock you down so hard.

I am putting some pictures of my leg and such....enjoy!

The finale to our camping season.

Last weekend was the beginning of a 3 weekend run at camping. Spencer last weekend, Bear Lake this weekend, and Pole Bridge next. Unfortunately I single handedly ruined the plans.

We were on a family ride last weekend everyone enjoying themselves. There came a tricky part, I was sure I could do on my own....nope as witnesses by 20 or so of our closest friends and family I wrecked a broke my leg.

Of course it couldn't bean easy break....nope I did a major break. Messing up my entire knee needing a bone graft from my hip to fix my knee.

As such I am unable to put any weight on my leg for 8 weeks. There goes the rest of our camping trips and quite honestly life as we knew it.

I'm already sick on not being able to get around sitting in bed and quite honestly the pain. Not to sound like a major complainer but I'm sick of not being able to take care of my family and house.

I will keep you posted....October 14th I will get this huge cast off....maybe then my spirits will rise.

Where did the summer go?

I don't really know where the summer went, but it is over. We had a great summer.

We did lots of camping, took the kids swimming, to Lagoon, and just hung out.

Aiden rode in his first Motocross race at the end of July. I was so nervous...and he wasn't. What's wrong with that? He was so relaxed and did a great job. He is looking forward to racing more next year. I on the other hand am not, not only did it make me nervous but it also going to cost me too much money. We will have to buy Aiden and racing bike and a trail bike.

I have enjoyed my dirt bike this year as well. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to ride it since I am the mother of a small baby. But the times I get out I enjoy it.

Aiden started the 2nd grade last Monday. He was a little nervous since his cousin Ethan moved and isn't in the same school this year. He did great. I think he is enjoying it.

Seth has been beggin every day since Aiden started school about when his pre-school starts. Last Thursday I told him two weeks and he said "It has been two weeks" I said "Well then you can pretend you are going to pre-school today." He said "I can't pretend because it has been two weeks." What a goofy kid.

I decided to pierce MadiLynne's ears. My mom and dad were upset with me, but she looks so adorable. She is a great baby. She is so easy to get along with and will just sit and babble all day. My parents, my brother Blake, Madi and I drove to Oregon to see my brother Jason in a play. Man was it a long drive, but Madi was awesome!

We decided to end our summer with a bang....a big dog. We just adopted a 5 month old Great Dane named Bailey. She was born the day before baby MadiLynne. She is very cute and loves the kids. She doesn't like not being able to see the baby. When Madi is napping and her bedroom door is shut the dog paces by her door until the door is open.
Here are some pics from the summer. Enjoy!

I'm sick of the rain!

So, here it is June 16th and the rain hasn't stopped. It is really starting to get me down. Pocatello has beat the record for the amount of precipitation for the month of June two days ago and the month is barely half over. Are you kidding me?

Well, we bought a new camp trailer at the beginning of June and we are taking it out tomorrow come hell or high water, which is exactly what it might be! We are hoping to get a few nice days, although with all the water we have seen I imagine it is going to be very muddy. I hope to get a ride or two in on the ol' dirt bike. ;-).

I have now been back to work for a while, which hasn't been too bad. My mom is watching baby, which is nice! The toughest part is getting up in the morning. I have to be up at 5:30 in the am to get to work on time by 8. I have to admit it is killing me. Courtney doesn't have any sympathy for me though as he has been getting up at 4:30 for the past 2.5 years. Although my disclaimer is that he has an hour and half bus ride there and back for napping. I do not. And I have to get all the kids ready to go. That is exhausting in and of itself.

I'm starving so I am going to sign off...and attempt to make something for dinner. Wish us luck on our Father's Day camp out.

Back to work

The day has arrived....tomorrow I will be returning to work after 8 weeks after the birth of MadiLynne. I'm a little anxious, I have to admit. My mom is going to be watching MadiLynne with the boys headed back to my lovely daycare provider, so there is no reason for me to fret. It is just that when I returned to work after my boys were born Court watched them, so I didn't care. Now my mom is going to know more about MadiLynne than me. ;-(. I think I will survive though, you don't you worry your pretty little head about me!

Aiden has been out of school for the past couple of days, we were able to go swimming on Monday with some of his cousins, and today we are hitting a movie before they spent the rest of the summer with LesLee. She does a great job keeping the kids entertained for the summer. I know they have way more fun with her and the other kids there then then would with me. She has one of the inflatable giant water slides. The kids just love it!

We went to the St. Anthony sand dunes camping for Memorial Day weekend. We were gone for 5 days. That is a dang long time to be camping in 24 ft trailer, 2 kids, a 6 week old baby, a brother in law and his enormous Great Dane dog Zoey. Wow! We had a blast though, and the weather was pretty much perfect. It would occasionally rain shower on us but that was okay. I will post some pics. I still haven't gotten the courage to get back in the trailer to clean it after the trip....all that sand! I'm sure I will fill the whole shop vac with sand when I get in there and get serious.

After that trip Court thinks we need a bigger trailer, so he is on the hunt. Too bad for him that he bought him a new dirt bike, so I told him no new trailer until he sells his other bike. Guess we will see how long that takes.

Madi is getting so cute, she is getting chubby and her little personality is starting to show. She is smiling and trying to laugh, she occasionally gets out a few chuckles.

Well, wish me luck for tomorrow. I will have to be up at 5:30 a.m. to get to work on time. Now to all those "rich site workers" that is nothing, but to the rest of us in the real world, it is going to suck!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Well this weekend was nice. My brother Jason came home from Oregon for the weekend. He is a very funny man, and it was nice to visit with him. He hasn't been homre for a while.

This week has been crazy busy...we are going to be going camping for Memorial Day weekend this weekend and we have been trying to get everything ready. If my bike gets out of the shop it will be the first time I get to ride it. Not that the St. Anthony sand dunes are the place to learn to ride a dirt bike.

Courtney thinks his bike isn't big enough, so he is off buying him a new one. So if you know anyone interested in a a dirt bike, we are going to sell his other one. I swear that man is never content.

MadiLynne is now 6 weeks old. I can't hardly believe it. Man does time fly...before you know it I will be back to work. Her little personality is starting to show. She is smiling and tries talking to us. One of the best things too is that she is sleeping through the night, she sleeps a good 8 hours a night. My boys were good sleepers but so far she wins!

Seth and I are having a good time hanging out while I am off as well. Although he still goes to daycare a couple times a week. I think he gets bored and likes to get some kid interaction there.

Aiden is almost done with school, only 7 more days....yeah! I am sick of early bed times. His baseball is going really well. He really enjoys it this year. He too is excited for this weekend and getting on his dirt bike.

I will post some pics of the camp trip when we get home. I am wondering if I should buy a Life Flight membership before we leave for Court....

Mother's Day & MadiLynne's Blessing Day

Mother's Day this year was special in that MadiLynne was blessed by Courtney. Court was really nervous but he did a great job. My mom had kept the dress I was blessed in 33 years ago, and so she pulled it out, washed it up and ironed it and MadiLynne was blessed in my blessing dress.

I also took it upon myself to buy me a Mother's day present which I love. I bought myself a Tiffany & Co. bracelet with a charm that says Mom. I also sent it with a really nice card to myself. ;-) I really like it! Courtney also bought my "shopping bag" from Old Navy. (Am I the only person that shops online, filling the shopping bag and then never buying it? It gets my shopping fix taken care of and doesn't cost me a dime!)

MadiLynne is now a month old and I am getting closer and closer to having to go back to work. I have really enjoyed being off and spending time with all my kids. Hopefully summer will actually start while I am still off and we will get in some good playing time.

We are looking forward to getting out camping. We hope to take the dirt bikes and trailer out to the St. Anthony dunes over Memorial Day weekend. I still haven't had the chance to ride my dirt bike yet, maybe this weekend will be nice enough for me to get dirty.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Hello everyone...let's see how this works.

Today was the first quite nice day, so the boys hit it hard playing outside and Courtney worked on the yard. Our yard has a million projects that need to be completed if we are going to attempt to sell it any time soon.

MadiLynne and I stayed in, I did housework, MadiLynne did a lot of eating, sleeping and pooping. I guess that is all you can expect her to do for a 1 month old. I can't believe she is already a month old, unfortunately I will be back to work before too long. We will be blessing her tomorrow, on Mother's Day. Unfortunately, due to me she is going to look ridiculous for her pictures too, I have scrubbed most of the top of her hair off....I know, why did I do that? It was unintential her head was peeling and driving me crazy. She also has a ton of baby acne right now. That is driving me crazy too, but there is nothing that I can do about. ;-(

Well, Court has asked I clean up the front yard before he gets home from his haircut, so I am off.
